2 489 new COVID-19 cases, 9 deaths recorded in SA

South Africa has recorded 2,489 new COVID-19 cases.
The economic hub, Gauteng, has recorded 942 new cases, while the Western Cape has 418 new infections.
Sadly, nine more people have succumbed to the virus.
The total number of deaths is approaching 97,000.
The country’s positivity rate stands at 7.6-percent.
