Corruption accused Mpumalanga officials granted bail

Three senior public servants who stand accused of corruption have been granted bail of R20,000 each. Mpumalanga Human Settlements head, Kebone Masenga, Hawk’s official Ayanda Plaatje, and the province’s acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Matric Luphondo.

It is alleged they tried to bribe a prosecutor to withdraw charges of fraud, and for contravening the Immigration Act. Their trial date has been set for 23 July.
