The successful incumbent will take responsibility for all construction related activities for the project
Site safety, co-ordination, planning, supervision, scheduling, problem solving, expediting, risk management, reporting, construction sequencing
Site budget and change control in line with company project procedures
There will be a requirement to manage and co-ordinate the activities of project contractors and other service providing companies.
The incumbent will be required to plan and supervise site construction within time, cost and budget constraints in line with company project procedures.
The Construction Site will be in the Port of Cape Town.
Candidate Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
SACPCMP Accreditation (Pr.Cm or Pr.Cpm)
At least 5 – 10 years of experience in the following:
Construction / Engineering Project Management environment.
Site Construction management experience with a focus on SMPP.
General management experience.
Site Contract and Contractor Management.
Shipyard/Marine experience, and experience in marine related projects, especially ship conversion, process plant and sub-sea mining
Knowledge/Experience in the following: Steel fabrication and site construction;Technical areas – Mechanical/Structural; Engineering/Construction Management; Marine Engineering; Management of Heavy Lift procedures; Management of Abnormal Load transportation procedures.
