The Constitutional Court delivered judgment on the case involving the Public Protector and the South African Reserve bank.
The court is set to pronounce on whether Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane should be held personally liable for the costs of the Reserve Bank case.
The court will rule on Mkhwebane’s application that she should not be held personally liable for costs relating to the High Court finding that set aside her report into the Reserve bank and ABSA in the so-called Bankorp lifeboat matter.
The judgment could have significant consequences for Mkhwebane whose recent report is now also being taken under judicial review by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
