Bheki Cele & Commissioner Masemola set to open 3 police stations in KZN this week

Policing efforts to eliminate cross-border crimes and improve rural safety are set to receive a boost.

Minister of Police Bheki Cele and National Commissioner Fannie Masemola are expected to officially open three police stations this week to service the communities of Melmoth, Osuthu, and Emanguzi in KwaZulu-Natal.

Before the handover events, the police top brass will be visiting residents from KwaMashu, Ntuzuma, and Inanda on Tuesday following a spate of violent crimes in some of these areas recently.

“The crime prevention imbizo forms part of ongoing efforts by the SAPS [South African Police Service] to engage residents on crime concerns and improve law enforcement service delivery,” said police ministry spokesperson, Lirandzu Themba.
