Our client, a leading international kitchen appliance company is looking for a Commercial Director to join their dynamic team in Cape Town, South Africa. They are looking for a hands-on individual who must have excellent direct sales experience with a proven track record. The company itself has been around for over 30 years and is at the forefront of kitchen technology, with their products been distributed and sold all around the world and even being featured onto the set of MasterChef Australia and also into professional kitchens.

For your role as Commercial Director you will work in the market, together with the Managing Director, on developing and leading the sales force. In parallel, you will be responsible for seeking all business opportunities within the multicultural customers’ profiles. You will also be responsible for developing the customers’ satisfaction on a long-term basis and support the development of the company’s brand and sales through the direct sales channel with both strategic mind and hands-on approach.

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years in sales responsibilities
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree- preferably in Business Administration
Experience in Management of a sales force in direct sales channel (preferably in consumer goods products)

Direct Sales Experience:

Experience in Sales Management: recruiting, coaching, leading teams, setting ambitious targets and close follow-up of such targets implementing control action
Successful direct sales track record
Fluent in English (fluency in any other languages are advantageous)
Have experience in working within big organisation
Solid business acumen
Leadership and organisational skills
Strong communication skills and drive
Easily relate and work with people from different backgrounds and personalities
Ability to cope with stress and setbacks
Have the capacity to quickly learn and understand the business
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills to build motivational relationships in a (mainly) female and highly emotional environment
Capable of working in a team, with teams and on one’s own
Flexible and able to adapt to very different social and educational backgrounds and personalities
Result and solution-oriented attitude
Strong analytical skills
Have a commercial instinct of always looking for opportunities
Passionate for cooking
Knowledge and experience of MSOffice

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop a sales structure by recruiting, training, coaching and retaining sales representatives
Manage direct and indirect reports
Detect talent within the sales team, promote and support career development
Collaborate efficiently with team in the field, on a 60-70% time basis
Collaborate efficiently and ethically with General Manager and peers
Formulate and monitor reliable sales forecasts. Set targets in order to achieve and surpass profitable results
Prepare, establish and report weekly and monthly sales
Draw up and monitor plans assigned to market. Develop and realize incentives and
promotional campaigns
Analyse results and implement adapted actions to achieve and surpass targets
Implement together with your team, on a long-term basis, an after sales service oriented in permanently satisfying existing customers
Key accountable person for the overall commercial results
Hold the market development responsibility and the commercial budget
Formulate and monitor reliable sales forecasts
Set targets in order to achieve and surpass profitable results
Prepare, establish and report weekly and monthly sales
Designs and implements the commercial strategy of the company for the entire market
Leads the sales organisation, defining and developing the structure
Develop a sales structure by recruiting, training, coaching and retaining sales representatives
Manage direct and indirect reports
Define the commercial objectives for the team
Steer the commercial tools (incentives, remuneration system, promotions, bonuses,
