Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) say they are on high alert following a warning of a massive cold front in parts of the city over the weekend.
Temperatures are expected to dip from Saturday, with this expected to continue into the first few days of next week before a slight increase.
This will be followed by more cold weather conditions.
Johannesburg EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi warned residents to practice caution and not to leave heating devices unattended.
“As the City of Johannesburg EMS, we remain on high alert over the weekend to make sure that we are able to respond to any emergencies that may occur in all seven regions of the city over the weekend.”
