South Africans living abroad will cast their ballots on Saturday ahead of the 8 May elections.
Voting gets underway at 7am at South Africa’s high commissions, embassies and consulates around the world.
The largest turnout is expected in London, where voters will queue through Trafalgar Square until they reach the South African High Commission.
Preparations for the vote are said to be on track.
“There’s a solid logistical plan, managing the queues ensuring that all the logistical items arrive here in the right quantities and so on, the training of our own staff, there has been a test team doing work for a while now ensuring everyone understands the legal prescripts and we are happy with that,” said IEC chief electoral officer Sy Mamabolo.
In the 2014 elections, the DA received 84-percent of the vote in London.
The ANC says the London vote is a challenge but the party still expects to make some gains this year.
Overseas voting is likely to have an even greater South African flavour in 2019, as it takes place on Freedom Day.
