We are looking for an energetic and ambitious individual with excellent interpersonal skills, whom is able to provide impeccable care for children placed at a Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC).

Job Duties:

General care and wellbeing of children in the residential units;Ensure that the safety of children is foremost in your duties;Communicate regularly regarding the children’s developments;Ensure when you conclude your shift that the housing unit is in an orderly condition;Supervising playtimes, study times, cleaning times and sleeping times;Waking up the children in the mornings and making sure they get ready for school;Keep a proper record of the comings and goings of each child;

Supervising food times- ensuring children have breakfast, lunch, and dinner; Facilitate toilet and shower routines, ensuring the hygiene of children; Ensure general cleanliness and hygiene of the entire environment.

Requirements: Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent certificate essential; Qualification as a Child and Youth Care Worker essential; Registration with SACSSP and/ or NACCW would be advantageous;2-3 years’ relevant experience in working with children essential;Willing to work shifts;Able to provide reputable references;Clear record in terms of Part B of the Sex Offender’s Register.
