The National Institute for Communicable Diseases reported 210 new COVID-19 cases in South Africa.
The institute also confirmed 7 more COVID-19 related deaths, taking the death toll to 88,619.
Meanwhile, Russia’s sputnik COVID-19 jab will not be used in South Africa.
The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) declined the use application, citing safety concerns.
