Job Description:

The successful candidates will join the Marketing Department and the core functions will be to maximise cash flows from the marketing of Anglo-American products and services. This role of the Cargo Agents will to efficiently expediting loading of the vessels in a quick turn time. In order to achieve these the Cargo Agent must coordinate activities of key role players in shipping logistics, such as, ship planning, stockpile planning and Port Agents.

The role will require you to:
manage the coordination of shipping role players to achieve stated objectives of ensuring vessels are turned around at Saldanha in quickest possible time, to save costs/earn revenue. You must be able to work Independently and set high working standards as an example to achieve efficiencies. This individual will also need to ensure that vessels are loaded as per commercial contractual obligations and providing completed contractual documents upon vessel completion Working with Shippers will be one of the important tasks for this role because you will need to make sure that Shipper’s product shipping Plan is aligned to Vessel’s Master’s Load Plan as per contractual obligations, attend weekly meetings with Shippers and attend Shipper vessel’s pre-plan Meetings. You will also be required to attend vessel’s pre-plan meeting with Terminals and communicate outcome to relevant parties and attend weekly Transnet Port Authority Meetings.
You will join an amazing team and manage the Port Agent’s functions on behalf of the Shipper will be one of your duties that you undertake and that includes the Port Agents meets Port Authorities requirements in planning vessels. The Port Agents provide relevant correct documentation for Shippers and Anglo Shipping, Port Agents provides efficient load plans to minimize loading hours, Providing Port Agents Shippers information timorously to ensure all approval requirements are met before vessel is to be loaded. The Cargo Agent will also have to measure Port Agents performance. Compile all contractual documents for customs and Anglo Shipping and Owners. This is done in office and on vessel completion and includes critical contractual documentation, such as Notice of Readiness (NOR), Bills of lading, Cargo Manifest, Mates Receipts and Statement of Facts.

This role is in the Marketing Department and is Band 7 role and the role reports to the Specialist Port Logistics Planner.

Qualifications:

You will need to hold a Grade 12 Qualification for this role and at least have 3 – 5 years of experience in the Cargo/freight Industry. A drivers Licence will be an advance for this role
