Water & power caps for Ministers removed

Opposition parties are concerned about reported changes to the ministerial handbook.

It was apparently amended in May, removing a cap on municipal utilities for Ministers.

The change in question is under section eight of the handbook under water and electricity costs.

According to the handbook, the Public Works Department is responsible for providing water and electricity.

There was a limit of R5,000.

But that provision has now reportedly been removed with no amount quoted in the handbook.
