Cape Town City sign Chippa winger Kayden Francis

Cape Town City have added winger Kayden Francis to their squad for the 2024/25 season after the 21-year-old signed a four-year contract following his move from Chippa United.

Francis, who is the nephew of former Ajax Cape Town and Santos defender Duran, made his DStv Premiership debut as a 16-year-old in November 2020, but it was only last season he became a regular at Chippa. He featured in 19 games, six from the start and 13 off the bench, scoring four goals, and adds to the wide options for City coach Eric Tinkler. He predominantly plays on the right wing.

Francis becomes the third signing by City in this transfer window so far after the arrivals of Namibia left winger Prins Tjiueza and playmaker Haashim Domingo.

The club has also announced it has reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of their Cameroon defensive midfielder Brice Ambina to Vaalarenga in Norway
