Cake Decorator – Pastry Chef wanted urgently: Salary R15 000 to R25 000 per month
A local speciality food and cake manufacturer is looking for an experienced and passionate Factory/Production based Pastry Chef and Cake decorator for their Production Facility in the Durban area.
Duties:
Executing New Product Development as per brief in a Factory/Production environment
Work in conjunction with the R&D Department with respect to briefs and concepts
Work in conjunction with the Marketing Department with respect to:
Concepts
Packaging
Process of new product development
Compiling and checking ingredient lists, packaging information and specifications
Reporting, tracking and filing of all relevant documentation
Factory support in any product-related technical challenges and production process improvements
Representing the cake decorating department in different meetings and with respect to queries and support
Managing projects within the department and factory environment
Requirements:
Grade 12
Relevant Food/Baking related Diploma
Minimum of 5 years’ Factory/Production based (NOT Domestic) cake decorating/baking experience
MUST have at least 3 years of FONDANT related work experience
Extensive experience in an FMCG Manufacturing environment with the production of Cakes, Desserts, Confectionary and related baked delicacies
Good MS Office skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
Extensive working experience with HACCP, GMP, Food Safety Systems Certification (FSSC) and ISO standards.
Experience in managing own projects
