Mzansi celebrates singer Bucie’s divorce – Here’s why

It is not often that people openly celebrate a couple’s marriage failure, but in the case of singer Bucie, her fans are rejoicing. Sunday, 16 June, Sunday World reported that the Rejoice hitmaker’s husband, Lucky Nhlanhla Nkomo is filing for divorce.

Sources reveal that Nkomo has been complaining about the lack of communication in their marriage.

“He says that instead, Bucie has been listening to the dictates of her friends and that no one can reason with her. He also said there was a total lack of any meaningful or constructive communication between them, and as a result, he did not see the reason to continue with the marriage,” said one source.

Another source claimed that Bucie and her husband have reached an agreement on how they will co-parent moving forward. The account has reportedly informed both their families about their separation as they now live apart.

The couple, who got married in 2016, have three children together, while Bucie also has a son who was born in 2006.

“They have already agreed that Lucky must live with the children and allow Bucie access to see them whenever it is suitable for both of them.”

When Bucie got married in 2017, she revealed to The SowetanLIVE that she would be retiring from music to focus on being a wife and mother.

“This is my final album‚ I’m out. I also just want to take some time off and spend it with my family. I’m a mom again. I have my sons and need to spend time with them‚” she said at the time.

Two years later, it was reported that he had physically abused her.

“I am glad she is. This man took her away from us. Pray she continues making music,” said one X user.

“Good riddance to rubbish. Now we can have our queen back. I really hope she comes back and give us endless great music. I hope she heals and be happier,” another netizen wrote.

While another commented: “The guy who made her stop doing music we lost a real gem because of himPoor Bucie.”

Last month, the singer released her new song, Faithful.
