The famous blue couch from Durban that was looted in July during the unrest gained social media traction after photos of the expensive couch went viral on social media, with the couch placed on the curbside and people relaxing on it.
The famous blue couch ended up in Quarry Road West squatter camp towards the end of July.
It was revealed that the blue San Pablo Leather Corner Couch was worth R70 000.

It was recovered with a piece missing but was restored at Leather Gallery’s Springfield warehouse Durban and it remained there, where it enjoyed Instagram fame.
The San Pablo Corner Couch is now reportedly touring Gauteng.
The couch has been displayed at Clearwater Mall in Joburg and will be at Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria until 20 December.

The couch will then be moved to Kolonnade Shopping Centre in Pretoria.
“Our famous blue San Pablo Leather Corner Couch is being featured in malls in which our stores are located. We decided to take the famous couch on tour as it has received such a great reaction in Durban at our showroom at our flagship warehouse and head offices,” Leather Gallery owner Greg Parry said.
“We hope to continue this tour and will keep our customers and community updated on our social media about where it will be going next,” said Parry.
