Black Leopards 0 – 3 Chippa United #DStvPrem

Chippa United continue their resurgent run in the DStv Premiership after thrashing ten-man Black Leopards 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Leopards made three changes, as goalkeeper Jonas Mendes, Sibusiso Khumalo and Onyedikachi Ononogbu were all recalled while Chippa also had three alterations, with Ayabulela Konqobe earning a start alongside the return of Chidi Kwem and Gregory Damons.

The Chilli Boys were on the front foot in the early stages and they eventually opened the scoring in the 20th minute after Andile Mbenyane went on a solo run and fired a strike past Mendes.

With Dan Malesela’s charges threatening to get the second goal, Mokhele Maloisane finally made it 2-0 for the visitors just before the break with a header into an empty net after a cross by Maloisane Ramasimong.

Lidoda Duvha had a horrible start in the second stanza as they were reduced to ten men five minutes from the break after Edwin Gyimah was shown a straight red card for violent conduct.

Maloisane had a wonderful chance to add a third goal for Chippa in the 73rd minute after going clear on goal, but he was denied by Mendes in a one-on-one situation.

However, Kurt Lentjies eventually sealed the deal for the Chilli Boys by making it 3-0 in the last 11 minutes with a strike in the centre of the box after a counter-attack and Malesela’s men moved four points clear of the drop zone with an emphatic win while Leopards lost back-to-back matches.
