Bidvest got back to winning ways in the Absa Premiership after a 3-2 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday night.
Gavin Hunt handed a debut to Cameroonian striker Eva Nga who was unveiled on Wednesday morning, while Lorenzo Gordinho was not named in the squad.
It was the clever boys got the ball rolling after 12 minutes Elias Pelembe did well to pick out Phathutshedzo Nange, who sent a superb finish into the top corner from the edge of the box for his first league goal of the campaign.
Celtic would have fancied themselves heading into the clash after back-to-back victories in the league, including a 4-2 win over Black Leopards on Sunday but they struggled to break past the Wits defence.
Unfortunately for the visitors, that was the trend for the remainder of the first stanza although Wits weren’t able to carve out another meaningful opening.
The second half was a different story though as Celtic restored parity six minutes after the halftime break through Menzi Masuku, who has now netted four league goals.
The visitors pushed on from there and managed to take the lead with 15 minutes remaining in the second half, as second-half substitute Andile Fikizolo found the back of the net just a minute after coming on for Victor Letsaolo.
Celtic’s joy was short-lived as the Clever Boys equalised moments, with Haashim Domingo firing past Jackson Mabokgwane for his first league of the season on 81 minutes.
The home side went on to secure the win with five minutes remaining as Gift Motupa slotted home to seal three points after a thrilling second half.

Pirates kept the same side that thrashed Polokwane City the last time out while Sundowns made only one forced change from their CAF Champions League win over USM Alger, as Sphelele Mkhulise replaced the suspended Themba Zwane.
