Bidvest declares highest dividend

Bidvest has declared its highest dividend in seven years, thanks to cash flows which increased by around half a billion rand.

In its latest results for the year to end-June, the company, which operates in sectors including freight and distribution saw most of its revenue come from its South African market. This despite the country’s economic challenges led mainly by inflationary pressures in the economy.

The company reported an increase in revenue to just under R100 billion. Bidvest benefited from commodity volumes, higher vehicle prices and sales, as well as the travel and tourism rebound.

The company says it will be investing in its freight division as it looks to increase terminal capacity, this at the value of R1 billion.
