Babes Wodumo & Mampintsha’s drama is too much, Just for a song?

The month of March 2019 proved to be one of those difficult periods for South African musician, Bongekile Simelane, commonly known as Babes Wodumo to the masses. This was after the nation woke up to a video that had gone viral on the internet, whereby Babes can be seen being physically assaulted by her on and off boyfriend and close music collaborator, Mandla Maphumulo aka Mampintsha.

The video was mostly perceived as Babes Wodumo’s cry for help as it was viewed by millions of her fans during a live Instagram stream. However, her actions thereafter planted questions in people’s minds like, was this a publicity stunt on their end?

It was later reported that Babes was receiving medical care at an undisclosed location, hence the Simelanes( Babes Family) feared media and the general public alike scrutiny and invasion.

Fast forward to May, both Mampintsha and Babes have now released a song titled, ‘Kukhona Iy’ngane la endlini’, which is loosely translated,’There are children in the house’. These words were heard uttered by Mampintsha as he violently assaulted Babes in the video. It seems these two have now decided to put it all in a song as it was released earlier today.

In the past, this particular pairing has attracted a lot of reactions (mostly negative), hence rumours of various forms of abuse and Babe’s mismanagement of funds had been swirling around quite strongly.

In an interview with Masechaba Ndlovu and Mo Flava, Babes was coerced by Masechaba to reveal details of her abuse at the hands of Mampintsha. This particular interview caused mixed reactions, especially towards Masechaba hence many believed that she was highly unprofessional and should not have ”exposed” Babes in such a manner.

The release of the song has caused a lot of mixed reactions from the public here are a few.

We guess it’s safe to say that people who defended Babes will now humbly take their L’s and mind their own business from now on when it comes to Babes & Mampintsha’s relationship.
