ANC NEC’s Mahlobo wants swift arrest of councillor’s killer

ANC NEC member David Mahlobo has issued out a warning to the police.

He wants the man suspected of killing a Mpumalanga councillor arrested as soon as possible.

Mahlobo says he fears for the suspect’s life if police fail to take him into custody.

ANC members marched to the Piet Retief police station on Monday, demanding the immediate arrest of Muzi Manyathi’s killer.

Mahlobo is concerned Manyathi’s family won’t get justice, should the suspect get killed.

Manyathi was deputy chairperson of the ANC’s Gert Sibande region and was killed in Mpumalanga last month.
