Stop protecting women and children abusers. That’s the strong call from AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu.
He’s been speaking at a dialogue discussing gender-based violence in Durban.
It’s hosted by the Mercy and Peace Foundation, which has brought together various stakeholders to address the scourge.
The AmaZulu King says the time for talk is over and it’s time to root out the scourge.
“If you count the killings that are taking place within the Kingdom of KwaZulu-Natal, the numbers are increasing every day.
The King says the criminal justice system has, in most cases, failed victims of gender-based violence.
He’s urged all stakeholders to join together in the fight to root out gender-based violence and femicide.
