Amajita got off to a perfect start in the Cosafa Championships. Defending champions Amajita sent out a strong message with a clinical performance against a team many had expected them to beat and will be looking to build on the victory to finish on top of Group B.
Orlando Pirates striker Lyle Foster inspired national under-20 side Amajita to victory in their opening Cosafa Championships match against Mauritius in Nkana, Zambia.

Lyle FosterThe South Africans took the lead when Mamelodi Sundowns’ reserve team captain Promise Mkhuma’s cross led to an own goal by Mauritius captain Jean Francois in the second minute.

Ten minutes later Amajita were two goals up, as Foster was there to tap in from close range from an assist by Thabiso Monyane.
Amajita continued dominating the game and they were up 3-0 in the 22nd minute through the book Kaizer Chiefs’ Multichoice Diski Challenge Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
Foster completed his brace three minutes later after he was set up by Mkhuma.
After setting up Foster earlier in the half, Monyane bagged a goal of his own before halftime to give Amajita a 5-0 lead going into the break.
Amajita’s next match will be against Swaziland in Nkana on Saturday after Namibia pulled out of the competition due to financial constraints.
