Skeem Saam’s Alfred Magongwa almost loses his son in a house fire

Alfred Magongwa is reeling from the shock of nearly losing his son Mahlatse in a house fire on Skeem Saam!

The blaze was sparked by a drunken Mahlatse, who fell asleep while cooking chicken. Since Mahlatse’s actually the child of Magongwa’s ex-wife Celia and not his biological son, her family has been taking him to task for being a negligent father.

They fail to recognize that Magongwa chose to raise Mahlatse as his own, a fact for which they should be grateful. The fire was an accident and not Alfred’s fault. He’s an amazing father, who deserves to be praised.
