Ace Magashule former PA heads back to SA after extradition

Moroadi Cholota, who served as the former personal assistant of former Free State Premier Ace Magashule, is set to land at OR Tambo International Airport this afternoon.

She has been extradited from the US where she has been studying. US authorities approved the extradition application for Cholota, who previously appeared before the State Capture Commission of Inquiry. Cholota has been touted as one of the key witnesses on the R255 million asbestos tender corruption case.

Some of the high-profile accused in the case include Magashule, who is also the former ANC Secretary-General, businessman Edwin Sodi and others. While Cholota had also struck a deal with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to head back to South Africa, this never materialised. South Africa and the US have an extradition treaty to tackle crime.
