Responsibilities include:
Calculating and Preparing
journal entries for review by the accountant
Reviewing of sales journals and ensure these agree to service provider reports
Extracting revenue reports, reconciling revenue and
follow up on variances
Recalculating certain expense accounts and take note any major variances to be reported
Preparation of balance sheet files on a monthly basis
Reconciling cash accounts and variances to be investigated
Calculation of expense items to be invoiced out
Providing suppliers with information on a monthly basis
Maintenance of fixed asset register as well as a fixed Asset Register file.
Accounting for Depreciation in accordance with the accounting policies
Review of management accounts and communicating variances with accounts payable and accountant in charge
Maintaining files of major suppliers
Ensure all intercompany loans accounts are balanced
Oversee the accounts payable team ensuring that deliverables are met
Weekly review of intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable balances
Assisting accountant with external audit queries
Assisting accountant with calculation and submission of tax returns
Assisting with external reporting requirements
Assisting in preparation of VAT returns and any SARS related queries
Other ad-hoc work

Qualification and experience
B Com Accounting / B Com Honours
1 – 2 years working experience essential
SAICA Articles would be an added advantage
Other requirements:
Able to work under pressure
Deadline driven
Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
Work over-time when required
Own Transport is essential
Pastel Evolution would be an advantage
