Assistant Accountant

Education and Minimum Requirements
 B Com Accounting Degree
 At least 5 years’ experience in an accounting position which has included preparation
and reconciliation of accounts, financial reporting and filing of returns to SARS.
 Experience in Syspro is an advantage
 Experience within a manufacturing background is preferable

Responsibilities
 Full financial responsibility from cashbook up to Trial Balance for related entities
(trusts)
 Monthly recurring journals for main entity
 Full debtors function (processing of receipts, following up on ageing queries) with a
hands on focus on major debtors
 Preparing income statement analysis/ balance sheet analysis for the entity
 Reviewing of creditors reconciliations for the entity
 Completion of month end reporting within specified time frames
 Participation in external financial/ BEE audits as required
 Maintain fixed assets schedule for the entity
 Reconcile the fixed assets schedule to the entitys general ledger
 Review and analysis of cost recovery accounts on the income statement;
 Review and analysis of factory production figures;
 Review and analysis of labour for the factory;
 Preparation of factory costing and product costing variance analyses;
 Preparation and analysis of overhead costs
 WIP Variance reporting
 Adhoc projects and exercises as and when required by management;
 VAT 201 Preparation and submission
 Compiling of all required reports within set deadlines
 Perform daily processing of manufactured products onto the financial system
 Performing of month end stock counts and capturing on the financial system
 Daily stock movement reporting and transfers in respect of raw materials
