Gauteng: At 10H51 Wednesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a falls on a hiking trail in the Hekpoort area of the West Rand.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult female had fallen injuring her lower extremities.
The patient was assessed on scene and found to have sustained moderate injuries.
A team of rescuers comprising of Netcare 911, Off-Road Rescue, Mountain Search and Rescue, Mogale Fire and Rescue, the SAPS Search and Rescue as well as staff from a nearby resort secured the patient in a specialised stretcher while a Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner stabilised the patient.
Once treated the patient was carried to an awaiting ambulance, some distance from the scene.
The patient was transported to hospital for further treatment.
