Getting to know OPW’s new presenter Vele Manenje

OPW viewers were taken by surprise when they tuned into last Sunday’s episode only to find out that Nomsa Buthelezi would no longer be doing the show.

Instead, viewers were introduced to a bubbly young lady that goes by the name of Vele Manenje.
Although some people may not be familiar with Vele’s face, she’s actually an actress on Mzansi Magic’s, Ring of Lies.

According to her interview with IOL, Vele was actually one of the contenders during last years OPW Presenter Search. She unfortunately had to exit the competition as she was committed to her job as an actress on Ring of Lies.

Fortunately for her, the opportunity to become an OPW host presented itself again, and she grabbed it with both hands.

Viewers were pleasantly surprised to see that the reality wedding show had a new host – they still have mad love for Nomsa.

During her interview with Isolezwe, Nomsa requested that people give Vele a chance as she was worth it and has the talent. She also shared that Vele was nervous about how people were going to receive her as the new host, but she encouraged her to just do her best and block out all the negativity.

“I told her that people were going to criticise her and compare her to me, I also told her that people were going to comment about her weight and make many negative remarks but what is important is that she realizes that there was a reason why she was chosen. People need to give her a chance and support her in this new role the same way they’ve supported me,” she told the publication.

Great advice Nomsa! But, wait guys, did Kayise Ngqula present all thirteen episodes of OPW?

Apparently every presenter needs to present thirteen episodes of the show before a new presenter is selected, but for some reason, we don’t think Kayise finished her thirteen episode run.

Anyway, congratulations to Vele. May she do justice to her new role as OPW‘s new host
