UEFA Champions League

Uefa Champions League quarter finals draw

For the first time in 10 years, four Premier League teams have qualified for the last eight in Europe’s elite club competition, and, with 50% of the quarter-finalists coming from the EPL, it is no surprise that two English teams will meet each other in the next round.

The UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw has now concluded, and it produced some massive clashes, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could potentially meet in the final.

Manchester City will face Tottenham Hotspur in an all-English affair, while Manchester United will take on FC Barcelona in another high-profile quarter-final clash.

This is the first season since 2009/10 that defending champions Real Madrid did not progress beyond the round of 16, which means there will be a new winner of the Champions League after Los Blancos won the past three consecutive finals.

In addition, UEFA also drew the road map to the final, with the winner of quarter-final 3 (QF3) facing the winner of QF1, while the two teams advancing from QF2 and QF4 will go head to head in the other clash.

This means an eye-watering final between Ronaldo’s Juventus and Messi’s Barcelona is still a possibility.
