KwaZulu-Natal: At 11H33 Friday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the M7 Westbound in Moseley Park West of Durban.
Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a truck lost control on a downhill crossing the centre island and slamming head-on into the traffic on the opposite lanes.
Medics assessed the scene and found two adult males had sustained serious injuries and were badly entrapped in the bakkie they were travelling in.
The patients were treated on by a Life Response 24 Emergency Care Practitioner on the scene while a Netcare 911 rescue technician with the assistance of the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to cut the patients free from the wreckage.
Due to the nature of one of the patients’ injuries a Netcare 911 Helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the seriously injured man to a specialist facility for the care he required.
