COPS in Tzaneen are investigating a case of arson as the local Tourist Information Centre along the R71 was burnt down on Monday night.
It is alleged that the security guard who was on duty at this centre noticed a blaze of fire coming from the front of the building.
He them immediately activated, the Fire Brigade and the cops who reacted swiftly.
On arrival, they found that the whole building was covered with fire, and they tried to extinguish it with no success.
Cops spokesperson Colonel Moetshe Ngoepe said during this incident, there was no injuries or fatalities.
The building was totally gutted down with everything inside, including furniture and electrical appliances.
The damage to the building is estimated to be worth more than R500 000.
Ngoepe said the cause of this fire is still unknown but the cops investigations will tell
