The date of #MatricExams results announced. According to the Department of Basic Education, result queries should be submitted for investigation within 30 days after the release of results. Pupils may apply for a re-mark/re-check of his/her examination scripts before 19 January 2018 at a cost of R98 or a re-mark and R23 for a re-check.
The 796 542 candidates who wrote the 2018 National Senior Certificate examinations will find out the results of their hard work on January 4 2019.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will announce an overview of the results on January 3 and the Class of 2018 will be able to access their results from their school or the centre where they wrote the exams the next day.
Western Cape pupils will be able to collect their results from their schools from 11 am on January 4.
The supplementary examination in February/March has been phased out and is not available anymore. A new examination is available during May/June where candidates can improve their results or complete outstanding results. The closing date for application is 31 January the current year. Matriculants who wrote the Independent Examinations Board examinations will receive their results on 3 January 2019. They can either access the results online at www.ieb-online.co.za, or if they applied, they will have an SMS sent to them, or they can collect it at their school, or they can check it in the newspaper if they opted to have their results published.
IEB pupils who qualify for the supplementary examination will be able to apply after the re-mark results have been released. The closing date for applications is Friday, 15 February 2019 and the examinations will be written from 4-15 March 2019.
And for those who are anxious to see if they made the cut for further studies, here are the minimum requirements relating to Higher Certificate, Diploma and Bachelor Studies:
Higher Certificate: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution as certified by Umalusi, the Quality Assurance Council. Institutional and programme needs may require additional combinations or recognised NSC subjects and levels of achievement.
Diploma: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution as certified by Umalusi, the Quality Assurance Council, coupled with an achievement rating of 3 (Moderate Achievement, 40% – 49%) or better in four (4) recognised 20-credit subjects. Institution and programme needs may require additional combinations of recognised NSC subjects and levels of achievement.
Bachelor’s Degree: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution as certified by Umalusi, the Quality Assurance Council, coupled with an achievement rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50% – 59%) or better in four (4) recognised 20-credit subjects. Institution and programme needs may require additional combinations of recognised NSC subjects and levels of achievement.
