Best-dressed politicians on the red carpet at #Sona2019

The State of the Nation Address is a very important matter to South Africans, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its own touch of glitz and glam. Those personally attending the SONA 2019 dressed to impress – and some of them nailed it spectacularly.

It’s time for the State of the Nation Address and while this may actually be a political event, politicians love dressing up and showing off their fashions sense. What better opportunity than at one of the most-anticipated events of the month? After all, a red carpet is for showing off, and there was a nice big one that welcomed guests to the SONA. As with any such occasion, there are fashion hits, and fashion misses.

It seems that budget cuts affected the SONA, as people preferred more ‘toned-down’ looks. However, they still managed to look fabulous. Here are our 6 favourite looks of the day, in no particular order:

It’s still early, but the address has had it’s first ‘bite’ already. The DA’s Natasha Mazzone says that the nominees for Parliamentary committee chairs are a slap in the face for President Cyril Ramaphosa.
