Shiraaz Mohamed has arrived in Turkey and could be coming home soon. This according to Gift of the Givers. The South African photographer has apparently escaped from his captors in Syria.
Mohamed was abducted in January 2017 while in Syria to photograph and report on the suffering of the Syrian people.
Details around his escape are still unclear. The organisation’s Imtiaz Sooliman says he was contacted on Saturday by people who helped Mohamed.
