Television personality and businesswoman, Bonang Matheba, responded to a Twitter user’s appreciation post over the physical attributes of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), particularly fawning over Sergeant Khumalo.
On Tuesday, 24 March 2020, popular television show runner, Portia Gumede, took to Twitter to fawn over members of the SANDF, following the circulation of their images on social media. One of the people to respond and share the same sentiments was Bonang Matheba. While Portia was surprised at Bonang interacting with her post, Bonang continued to suggestively state what Sergeant Khumalo or Lieutenant General Tshabalala could do to her.

On Tuesday, 24 March 2020, Kelly Khumalo clarified that she does not believe that a coronavirus is an act of God. Kelly commented on a post by fellow musician, Khaya Mthethwa, which rebutted the sentiments that many people have expressed by quoting Bible verses, particularly Chronicles 7:13.
