South Africa’s death toll has surpassed 16,000 after the Department of Health recorded 126 more COVID-19 deaths.
Most of those deaths were in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng. The department recorded over 1,300 new infections, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 663,282.
COVID-19 recoveries in SA are at 592,904, translating to a recovery rate of 89.4%.
