Another COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for use in South Africa. The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority has approved emergency use of the Pfizer/BioNtech Comirnaty Vaccine.
It says the vaccine’s efficacy and safety will be continuously monitored. South Africa has ordered 20 million doses of the vaccine, but it’s not yet known when it will arrive.
Government began its vaccination rollout campaign with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine last month.
