Sophie Lichaba: Yes, I may have lost a little too much weight but I don’t care

Sophie Lichaba: Yes, I may have lost a little too much weight but I don’t care. Speaking on the Thab00ty Show on 5FM,  Sophie shared that losing weight has been one of the most difficult journeys she’s ever embarked on, and that being diabetic highlighted how important it was for her to lose the weight as well.

Sophie’s weight loss has been the topic of discussion for weeks on end and although she’s addressed the reason behind her weight loss, people continue to express their concerns about her health.

However, Sophie has made it clear that she is absolutely fine.

“Let’s forget diabetes for a second, but let’s talk about the fact that as African women, we think we are sexxy when we’re overweight because we’ve got hips… So you get concerned when people say ‘aw you’re still gorgeous as a full-figured woman’. That’s amazing but the reality is that it’s not healthy, so for me I wanted to lose the weight but it was the hardest journey I ever went through.”

She said diabetes is a blessing in disguise because it forced her to eat well and live well.

“Yes I may have lost a little too much but I don’t care. For people to say it’s too much, I don’t really care. See, I can say I need one more kilo, for someone else they may say ‘haai this person needs 10 kilos’. No, my decision is that when I’m happy, I’m happy, I’m happy and I feel fantastic.”
