Solidarity calls for urgent action to end load shedding

The Solidarity Research Institute says urgent action should be taken to end blackouts.
It’s submitted a petition to Parliament on the power crisis.
The institute wants all regulatory and legislative obstacles to unlimited private power generation removed.
Solidarity’s Connie Mulder said, “I think the main aim is to stop the rolling blackouts. We can solve this, we need urgent actions.”
“The solution to load shedding lies on the roof and homes of South Africans it doesn’t lie in the corridors of one or two big commercial projects. It’s nonsensical to still have limits on IPP bid windows, drop that. …..we need skills that can maintain these renewable energy solutions.”
