The family of former Bafana Bafana star, Senzo Meyiwa, will on Friday give an update on the investigation into his murder.
Meyiwa was gunned down at the house of his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, in 2014. Soon afterwards, police arrested a suspect, but he was later released.
Five years later, the family and the country are not clear what transpired on that day. Meyiwa’s father, Sam, died a disappointed man in June, complaining that justice had not been served. Meyiwa senior had been pressuring the police to act.

In other news – Soweto Gospel Choir takes Grammy award to Soweto Theatre
In commemoration of their third Grammy win, the Soweto Gospel Choir’s Grammy award will be displayed at the Soweto Theatre this summer. Fresh from their Grammy win, the Soweto Gospel will be performing at the theatre from this week until 3 November 2019. It’s part of the theatre’s initiative to celebrate and honor local talent.
General manager of the Soweto Theatre, Nomsa Mazwai confirmed that the Soweto Theatre will now be home of the Soweto Gospel choir. Read more
