The organisers of Europe’s largest s.e.x party have chosen to cancel the event, which was due to take place this weekend, due to the coronavirus.
According to Metro, the team behind the Aurora Lifestyle Festival decided to halt this year’s event as they weren’t prepared to create a “poor replica” that would adhered to UK lockdown regulations. Regulations stipulate people should refrain from having s.e.x with those who don’t live in the same household.
The event, which is in its seventh year, would have seen kinky couples attending the festival at a secret location in Worcestershire, England. According to the Mirror, at previous events four-poster beds were set up on the festival grounds for attendees to hook up on.
In a statement on their website, organisers said Covid-19 had affected their ticket sales and that they would have a “bigger and better” festival next year.
“The impact of Covid-19 has already affected ticket sales. There is also the potential for vendors and suppliers to withdraw at any time, due to illness or self-isolation, leaving us with a space to fill at short notice or more likely, not at all,” they wrote.
“We will use this time to look after ourselves and each other and see where this virus takes us. Hopefully 2021 will be the year to return bigger and fresher and virus free,” they continued.
