Riky Rick talks about Fatherhood

Riky Rick over the past two years or so has been diligently working hard towards not only becoming a better musician but also one of South Africa’s most spearheaded leaders in urban fashion. We’ve also seen the rapper strategically infiltrate the white South African market with his role as a judge on M-Net’s The Voice, a move that has worked significantly to his advantage.

But more then anything, Riky Rick, since becoming a father, has worked hard in ensuring that he creates a safe and warm home for his family, especially for his kids. His debut album – Family Values is a testament of how much he adores his family and how they come first with every decision he makes in his life.
Together with his life partner – Bianca Naidoo has a 10-year-old daughter by the name of Jordan and a five-year-old son by the name of Maik.

In a recent interview on 702, Riky Rick shared that although he does a lot for his kids, he is adamant on them starting to work at a young age and realising and appreciating the importance of money.

He also added that he does not want his kids to grow up in ideal circumstances all the time as there is always a great lesson learned in life’s struggles.

“I would never want my kids just to grow up in beautiful circumstances all the time, I also want them to go through a little bit of pain. This year we’ve actually decided that the kids get less but they’re such good kids that they’re not spoiled or demanding in any way.

Still, on the topic of money, Riky Rick was asked if he’s ever wasted his money on cars and other trivial materialistic items.

The rapper admitted that at one point he did, but now that he’s grown up a bit more, all he wants is just one car to drive around from A to B which he already has.
