Republic of Ireland beat Gibraltar 1 – 0 #EURO2020

Hendrick’s low 66th-minute shot was all the Republic had to show for their efforts at the Victoria Stadium. They struggled to convert dominance into goals in a swirling gale.

McCarthy will have another chance to boost his side’s morale when Georgia visit Dublin on Tuesday for their second Group D qualifier.

Georgia opened their campaign with a 2-0 defeat against Switzerland in Tbilisi.
