Reason Why Edinson Cavani wasn’t ruled Offside vs West Ham

Uruguayan Striker Edinson Cavani played a key role in setting up Marcus Rashford’s winner in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over West Ham United on Saturday.

There was a lot of speculation that the Manchester United striker was offside and that the Red Devils got away with the decision.

However, the VAR check clearly shows that Edinson Cavani was played onside by Aaron Cresswell and only his left arm was offside.

As you can’t use a hand to set up a goal, that was not considered and the goal was deservedly given. Gary Neville also proved this with a picture from his Ipad to prove that Cavani was clearly onside.

The big win against the Hammers takes United back into the top-4 and helps them head into the two-week winter break with a lot of confidence.
