Quality Controller needed – Apply Now: Salary R23 000 a month.
Our client, a food processing factory based in Epping, is looking to appoint a Quality Controller. Reporting to the Quality and Technical Manager, this represents an excellent career opportunity for a team player looking to grow in experience as well as responsibility.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Daily monitoring of factory operations to ensure proper implementation of quality and food safety systems throughout the factory.
Ensure that hygiene and housekeeping is maintained to an acceptable standard.
Monitoring production processes to ensure that products are produced according to product specifications (Includes product specification audits).
Ensure that allergen control measures are adhered to during daily production and conduct in-house allergen verification testing as required.
Monitoring of daily, weekly & monthly cleaning schedules to ensure these are carried out as per schedule and to accepted standards.
Responsible for in-house quality and microbiological testing of final products prior to release.
Compile COC’s/ COA’s for relevant outgoing final products.
Ensure submission of QC Samples to customer according to schedule.
Sampling and submission of final products for external laboratory testing as per micro testing schedule.
Maintaining the environmental monitoring (swabbing) program and submitting samples according to schedule.
Verification checks of records completed by production departments and filing thereof.
Verification of cleaning chemical concentrations as required.
Weekly verification of factory temperature probes.
Assist with refresher staff hygiene training.
Assist with investigation of customer complaints.
Ad hoc duties from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS:
Matric with a tertiary degree / diploma in food technology or equivalent training.
2-3 Years relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Supplementary advance training in food safety systems will be advantageous.
Literacy in Microsoft Excel / Word (Intermediate level).
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Adaptability in a changing environment.
Strong administrative skill with attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills with a vibrant personality.
Own transport and driver’s license (Not negotiable).
SALARY:
Negotiable depending on experience
