President Cyril Ramaphosa addresses the nation on the country’s risk-adjusted strategy to control the spread of the coronavirus. The presidency confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.
Ramaphosa’s address follows a Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday afternoon which was expected to discuss the issue of closing schools following calls from teacher unions.
The issue of closing schools has been a controversial topic as the government had indicated that it was important to save the 2020 academic year.
Union leaders of Sadtu and Naptosa had separately told the media on Wednesday that their meeting with Mhaule had indicated that Cabinet was closer to meeting their demands.
