Pedestrian killed, two injured in single vehicle collision

Thursday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Nelson Mandela Drive in Port Shepstone on the South Coast.

Reports indicate that the driver of a light motor vehicle lost control, crushing a pedestrian against a tree. Medics assessed the scene and found that the driver and passenger had sustained minor injuries.

Sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.

In Other News – Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi hospitalised

Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has been hospitalised, however, his family says it is nothing to be alarmed about.

In a statement, the family confirmed the Prince’s hospitalisation on Tuesday, but say he is undergoing a routine medical examination after he reported feeling slightly ill on Monday raising concerns about his blood pressure.
The family says they will issue an update upon Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s discharge from the hospital.

While the 93-year-old has retired as leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party, he remains an active member of parliament. Read More
