Orlando Pirates unveil new jersey. The Buccaneers are flying high at the moment, having come off a 2-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout Soweto Derby semi-final in Durban at the weekend.

They have worked long and hard to get back to the highest level in African football, and now Orlando Pirates are going to celebrate the moment in style.

They are back in the Caf Champions League as well – having finished second in the Premiership last season – for the first time since 2013, when they lost 3-1 on aggregate in the final to Egyptian giants Al Ahly under Roger de Sa.

Orlando Pirates jerseySerbian mentor Milutin Sredojevic is hoping to bring back the glory days of 1995 when Pirates became champions of Africa. To mark the occasion, Pirates have launched a special new limited edition jersey by adidas – an all-white look that the club says is a reminder of their history.

“This is a special year for us: we’re celebrating 80 years of existence, and we’re back in the CAF Champions League for the first time in five years. To celebrate a competition which we hold so dear, we have brought back a jersey which resembles the one that set the tone for one of the greatest eras in the club’s history,” Orlando Pirates Brand Activation Manager Tokoloho Moeketsi said on Monday.

It’s a great look for a Club that has such a rich history, yet constantly reinventing itself to maintain the highest standards of performance.”

The new jersey will go on sale on December 6 at R799 for the men’s edition and R699 for the ladies. Pirates will begin their Caf Champions League campaign on Wednesday night against Light Stars of Seychelles at Orlando Stadium (7.30pm kickoff).
