One dead, five serious in West Rand crash

Gauteng: At 23H10 Saturday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R563 in Oaktree on the West Rand.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a light motor vehicle lost control resulting in the car slamming into a wall.

Medics assessed the scene and found that the driver of the car an adult male had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.

Five other occupants of the vehicle, three females and two males had sustained serious injuries.

All the patients were treated on scene and once stabilised were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.

In Other News – Severe storms and cold front expected for Monday

The SA Weather Service on Sunday warned of a looming strong cold front, expected to bring severe storms to the Western Cape from Monday.

The service said current indications were that the storm could be more severe than the one that made landfall last week.
